RENE' GONZOLEZ
Rene' is a master upholsterer with more than twenty years of experience. He is our primary fabric cutter which is where everything begins. It requires a keen eye for detail, and commitment to quality.
Rene' works closely with our seamstress, and upholsterers to make sure every yard of fabric is used effectively and efficiently. Additionally, Rene' is our lead leather upholsterer.
Rene' is married with two young children. In his spare time he enjoys reupholstering classic car interiors.
GARY MILLAN
Gary is our quality control manager as well as our outside sales manager. He has a broad range of experience from running his own successful upholstery business for many years, to managing an Ethan Allen distribution center. He has also taught upholstery classes at Bay Area community colleges.
As a master upholsterer, there is very little that Gary hasn't seen or done when it comes to upholstered furniture.
Gary is married with one grown son and a new daughter-in-law. We are taking bets on when we will be calling him Grandpa.
MARIA RODRIGUEZ
Maria is the seamstress at Pollin's. Her skills are second to none. She has been sewing most of her life, and knows her way around just about any type of specialty sewing machine.
In addition to her sewing skills, Marie is an excellent chef. It is always a great day at the shop when she prepares a feast of authentic Salvadoran Pupusas. If you have never tasted them, you are truly missing out on a wonderful Latin American dish.
EDUARDO VASQUEZ
Eduardo, or Lalo as he is known at the shop, has grown from apprentice and delivery man to become one of our finest upholsterers. He is also responsible for furniture repairs, wood refinishing, and building new custom furniture and headboards.
In addition to his skills as an upholsterer, Lalo is a fine musician and singer. His band, "Impulzo", performs around the Bay Area and beyond. They even have a single that is receiving play on many Latino radio stations. Check it out at http://www.grupoimpulzo.com
FRANCISCO OLYERA
Francisco, or Pancho, is a long-time Napa resident. He is the "muscle" in the shop. Stripping old upholstery off of furniture, and stuffing cushions with new foam requires a fair amount of elbow grease; and a few upholsterer's tricks to do it right. We call on Pancho to assist Lalo with the heavy lifting on deliveries.
DON MULKEY
Don had a very successful career in the advertising business before purchasing Pollin's in 2006. As a creative director and designer, he worked at top international ad agencies in Dallas, New York City and San Francisco for various clients, including a number of Fortune 100 companies.
Don has brought his creative insight, and design experience to Pollin's, helping clients with fabric selection, color advice, window covering styles, interior design and furniture design.
Backed by an expert staff of craftsmen, Don helps clients realize their dreams.
Elli & KRIS MULKEY
As one of the owners of Pollin's Interiors, Kris is responsible for promotions and media relations for the business. In other words, she does everything she can to let people know about Pollin's. She also has a strong sense of design and color helpful skills when it comes to helping clients find the right fabrics for home or business. Kris also writes a blog about food, wine and life. Follow her at: What's Cooking?
Elli is our daughter, and frequently visits the shop on weekends, and when school is out. She enjoys spending time with the crew, and using fabric scraps to make her own design statements.
GABRIEL RAMOS
The other upholsterers in the shop refer to Gabriel as "Maestro" out of respect for his knowledge and skills as an upholsterer. He is a true artisan and teacher with more than forty years of experence mostly in the Bay area.
Gabriel handles most of the antique furniture we are frequently asked to restore to like-new condition.
SAM & BENTLEY MULKEY
Pollin's shop dogs. We adopted Sam from Golden Gate Labrador Retriever Rescue. Bentley came to us from a neighbor, who could no longer care for him. They spend most of the day sleeping under our office counter. When the weather is nice, they like to hang out in front of the store taking in a little sun.
Both have been known to bark at customers from time to time, but they are definitely "all bark and no bite" just looking for a pat on the head. They will becomes fast friends with anyone who offers them a cookie, which we keep on the counter.

Wool is one of the world's best natural fibers. Endlessly renewable, wool fabrics are beautiful with a luxuriously soft hand. Wool also has excellent insulating properties, and can be used
as batting around cushion fill.
